OUR STORY
Be Unique is independently run by Becca and Grace, two industry trained professionals as well as best friends. In turn, this means that every corner of our institution is filled with the heart and soul of individuals who are deeply committed to nurturing creativity and talent. We are not just part of a larger corporation; we are a close-knit community, driven by our shared passion for the arts. Our small teaching team and wonderful students contribute to the vibrant tapestry that makes our school unique.
Our dedication goes beyond just teaching the art of performance. We believe in the transformative power of the performing arts to help children grow in many aspects of life. Here, students not only learn to express themselves creatively but also develop vital life skills—like teamwork, confidence, and resilience. These are the building blocks that will serve them well beyond the stage.
Through collaboration, discipline, and self-discovery, we equip our students with the tools they need to navigate the challenges of life. Our aim is to inspire young artists to flourish not only as performers but also as well-rounded individuals ready to embrace the world, whilst being in a safe and inclusive space.
Each one of our schools is a labor of love that we have poured our experiences, dreams, and aspirations into. BECCA FRENCH
Principal and Founder - Holds an Enhanced DBS Check
Miss Becca Trained professionally at CPA Studios and graduated with a level 6 diploma in professional musical theatre and dance. Before this Miss Becca had previous training from Urdang Young Performers and had taken classes since the age of 7. Before founding Be Unique, Miss Becca had a wealth of experience teaching at many amazing local theatre and dance schools in Essex and found a passion for inspiring the next generation of performers.
GRACE HYMAN
Principal and Founder - Holds an Enhanced DBS Check and a level 2 in understand Autism.
Miss Grace graduated from CPA Studios with a level six diploma in professional musical theatre and dance. Since graduating in 2017 Miss Grace has been the lead singer in a very popular band and has performed all over Essex as a solo singer in many fabulous venues. Miss Grace also has lots of experience in teaching young performers through some great performing arts schools in Essex. Miss Grace as an educator is determined to pass on valuable knowledge and skills to our lucky students at Be Unique.
TARNYA WEST
Cover Tutor - Holds an Enhanced DBS
Tarnya has been performing from a very young age. She graduated with a Level 6 Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre. Tarnya has toured over the UK playing Alice in Alice In Wonderland. She has worked abroad in Sarndia and Lapland as a Singer and Dancer. Tarnya has sang at the O2 Arena as a soloist twice.
SAM FIELD
Cover Tutor - Holds an Enhanced DBS Check
Sam trained at Masters Performing Arts College where she graduated with a National Diploma in Musical Theatre and Dance. Since leaving college, she performed in TV commercials such as webuyanycar, Hyundai and Addidas and has also appeared in music videos including Tinie Tempah. Sam also performed as one of the professional dancers at the Opening Ceremony of the London Olympics. More recently, she had the opportunity to perform at Kids Nite et le Noel de Frankie, a variety show in Monaco. Sam now focuses on teaching where she teaches a range of classes including Musical Theatre, Commercial and Contemporary.
MORGAN SAWYER
Tutor - Holds enhanced DBS
Morgan trained at Masters Performing Arts, where she graduated with a National diploma in Musical Theatre & Dance. Morgan performed at the Rugby World Cup semi-finals & final as a professional dancer. Morgan studied at Identity School of Acting for over a year and now attends regular workshops & castings in London. Morgan also has a modelling career where she has been in Kelloggs adverts as well as other UK & US brands. More recently, Morgan has performed in a music video for an up and coming artist. As well as progressing her career in the industry, Morgan has 6 years of teaching experience.
BECCII SEARJEANT
Tutor - holds an enhanced DBS
Beccii trained at London Studio Centre for 3 years and have a BA(Hons) in Theatre Dance. I've done two ship contracts as a lead vocalist/singer-dancer and also company manager on my second contract. We performed 2 shows a night, 6 nights a week plus cabs and deck parties and got to sail around a lot of the Med and Adriatic coasts. I worked at Potters Resort in Norfolk just before Covid then went back when they reopened fully performing in some shows as a lead vocalist and other shows as a dancer. I also perform in Kidz Pop Party, Kidz Pop Christmas and Monster Club at the Maddermarket Theatre, Norwich and Norfolk Showground.

COVID 19
At Be Unique, it is our top priority to keep all students and staff safe during the pandemic. We work very closely with all of our venues to ensure the correct actions are taken when operating within their facilities. We have a full and extensive risk assessment along with all of the necessary tools needed to allow us to operate safely! During national lockdowns we will not be operating however we do run online classes and workshops. Following government guidelines we are allowed to continue giving our fabulous classes in tiers 1,2 and 3. Following government restrictions, our classes are limited to 15 in each group, therefore for many of our groups we do currently have a waiting list! Please message us for more information! If your child has symptoms or has been in contact with anyone with Covid-19, you will not be allowed into class.

A NIGHT AT THE MUSICALS 23
After fantastic term of hard work, we are extremely proud of our students and their outstanding efforts in our end of term performance at the Haverhill Arte Centre. The dedication and commitment was outstanding and we are extremely lucky to have all of the amazing children who put in 100% effort every week. Well done super stars !
THROUGH THE DECADES 2024
This years production of “through the decades” will be held at the Haverhill arts centre. All of Graces classes will perform on the 20th July and Beccas on the 21st. This is a wonderful opportunity for all students to showcase their talents and hard work as well as experience performing in a professional theatre. A fabulous celebration of all involved with Be Unique.
OUR FIRST EVER MUSICAL THEATRE COMPETITION

Our Clavering and Withersfield schools were extremely lucky to work with Jonny from Apeture Film this term to create content for our promotional videos. All students shone brightly and were fantastic behind the camera !
We’re proud to have a unique, vibrant and passionate community that creates an inclusive and inspiring environment for students of all levels and backgrounds. We have an amazing selection of uniform that can be purchased through our online store (T-shirt’s are compulsory after 4 weeks of attending class). Black Jazz shoes should also be worn by all students. Secondary school aged girls should also have tan character shoes.

Kirsty - My daughter started these classes just before her 8th birthday. She has loved every class since, it is helping to build her confidence and make new friends all while doing activities she loves. The Ladies that run it are brilliant and my daughter loves them. So pleased we found the group!
Catherine - I’ve been taking my 4 year old daughter to these classes for around 6 months now and I’m so glad we found them! Having an 18 month old too, it’s sometimes challenging to find a class that they can both enjoy, but they both loves these classes and look forward to going every week! My daughters confidence has grown so much and it’s lovely that she has made new little friends too. Becca and Grace are brilliant teachers and they are so accommodating. Can not recommend highly enough.
Julie - from the first free trial class my daughter was beyond excited to be a member of Be Unique Performing Arts, she attends with her friends and it’s been amazing to watch their talent and confidence grow. Terms and Conditions
Any classes missed due to sickness, isolation or any other reason are non refundable or transferable. Classes can be joined via zoom in this instance. All classes are paid for upfront for the 6/7 week term. Any late payments will result in 15% charge and the child will not be able to attend until fees are paid. Please let us know if you ever have any issues and we will always do our best to help. All children take classes independently with a fully enhanced DBS checked professional.
